Veterinární klinika CT vyšetření

Our clinic operates a Siemens Somatom Balance computed tomography (CT) scanner.

Computed tomography is a diagnostic imaging modality that combines the functionality of an X-ray machine with the advantages of state-of-the-art computer technology.

Conventional radiography is only able to display a three-dimensional object (body part) as a two-dimensional image. Computed tomography can represent a three-dimensional object three-dimensionally and, most importantly, in cross-sections. As a result, CT is useful for diagnosing a wide range of conditions—for instance, primarily diseases of the bones and joints (degenerative, inflammatory, neoplastic diseases), nasal cavity disorders (inflammatory, neoplastic, traumatic—skull trauma), as well as diagnosing diseases of the central nervous system (brain tumors, hydrocephalus, intervertebral disc herniations, vertebral fractures, spinal tumors), and last but not least, soft tissue conditions (predominantly diagnosing lung neoplasms—e.g., mammary gland tumor metastases; various abdominal and pelvic neoplasms). The list concludes with the diagnosis of vascular disorders—primarily in the abdominal and thoracic cavities.

Main indications for a CT examination:

Diagnosis of the spine and spinal cord (intervertebral discs, tumors, ...)

Brain diagnostics (tumors, vascular system, ...)

Skull diagnostics (teeth, jaws, sinuses, ...)

Orthopedics (developmental joint disorders—FCP, OCD, bone and surrounding tissue tumors, ...)

Diagnostics of the urinary system

Angiographic examinations (portosystemic shunt, ...)

Respiratory system diagnostics (tumors, metastases, ...)

The base fee for the examination is 3,500 CZK.

The complete price including interpretation and anesthesia ranges from 4,500 to 6,000 CZK.
